Testing that tells you exactly what works — and what doesn’t.
Routine functional checks and full-duration emergency lighting testing for London premises, with recorded results and clear defect reporting.
Full-duration discharge test.
A planned annual test checks that emergency luminaires operate for their required rated duration following failure of the normal lighting supply.
Typical annual test scope
- Identify and visually inspect emergency luminaires and exit signs
- Simulate failure of the normal lighting supply
- Confirm luminaires illuminate correctly
- Run the system for the required test duration
- Record failed fittings, batteries, lamps/LED modules or signs
- Record results and provide a defect/action schedule
- Quote remedial works when requested
Short functional checks.
A monthly function test is intended to confirm that emergency lighting operates when the normal supply is interrupted, without fully discharging the batteries.
- Operate test key / test facility where provided
- Confirm each relevant fitting changes to emergency operation
- Check indicators and obvious physical damage
- Record failures and abnormalities
- Update the site logbook / maintenance record
More than “does the green light come on?”
A charging indicator alone does not prove a fitting will deliver useful emergency illumination for the required duration.
Condition
Damage, missing diffusers, obscured signs, incorrect legends and obvious deterioration are recorded.
Operation
We confirm the fitting switches into emergency mode when the normal supply is simulated as failed.
Battery performance
Annual full-duration testing checks whether emergency operation is maintained for the required period.
Failed fittings? We can deal with them.
You can use us for testing only, or instruct us to return and complete the remedial works identified during the inspection.
